HHLA Next took 2nd place in the Transport and Infrastructure category of this year's study "Corporations on the Trail of Startups" by Hamburg-based consulting firm Infront Consulting and business magazine Capital. The study examines the structures and recipes for success of existing innovation units of corporations and medium-sized companies. This year, the focus was on "Twin Innovations: Digitalization x Sustainability".
The study evaluated novel business models, products and services that achieve sustainable added value through the smart use of digital technologies. The study analyzes how digital innovation units use digitization to enable sustainable innovations while meeting economic, ecological and social goals.
Ecological and economic sustainability are fundamental elements of the HHLA Next strategy and are taken into account in all build, partner and invest initiatives. In doing so, HHLA Next not only addresses company-specific issues, but also offers solutions to challenges that affect the entire maritime logistics ecosystem, such as reducing CO2 emissions in transport services (e.g. by shifting shipments from road to rail) or in port call coordination (startup heyport).
Simone Lode, Managing Director of HHLA Next: "We are extremely proud that we have already been able to leave established companies behind in our second year of existence."
