2. Use of cookies

a) What cookies are

If you give your consent, we will automatically collect data for advertising purposes. In this case, usage data is tracked for usage-based online advertising, i.e. usage data is collected and processed into usage profiles ("advertising tracking").

This happens because efficient online advertising requires reliable information, in particular about which users are estimated to be particularly interested in which products, topics or offers. In this way, more relevant advertising can be played out on your device.

The programs we use use so-called "cookies" to collect data. Cookies are small text files that your internet browser creates automatically and that are stored locally on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website.

The use of cookies serves the purpose to make the use of our offer better and more efficient for you.

We also use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you or, if necessary, to enable targeted advertising. All cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period when they have served their purpose.

b) How to prevent the use of cookies

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can generally prevent the storage of cookies on your device by selecting "Do not accept cookies" in your browser settings. You can also set up your browser to asks you whether you agree before setting cookies. You can also delete cookies that have been set at any time. How all this works in detail can be found in the instructions of your browser operator. Please note, however, that these settings only apply to the respective device and browser to which they apply.

We only use advertising tracking on our website with your explicit consent. Your consent will therefore be requested before the website is accessed.

The legal basis for the use of advertising tracking and the setting of the cookies that may be required for this, is Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

c) Matomo

We use the web analysis tool "Matomo" in order to tailor our website according to our needs. Matomo creates usage profiles based on pseudonyms. For this purpose, permanent cookies are stored on your device and read out by us. In this way, we are able to recognize returning visitors and count them as such. The data processing is based on your consent according to Art. 6 (1)(a) DSGVO or § 15(3) TMG, if you have given your consent via our banner. You can revoke your consent at any time. To do so, please follow this Link and make the appropriate settings via our banner.

Matomo uses the cookies _pk_ses.1.5d3f and _pk_id.1.5d3f with a validity period of 30 minutes (_pk_ses.1.5d3f) and 11 months (_pk_id.1.5d3f) for the purpose of evaluating the behavior of users on the website (_pk_ses1.5d3f) and recognizing returning visitors (_pk_id.1.5d3f).

d) LinkedIn Insight Tag

We use the LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company's "LinkedIn Insight Tag" conversion tool. This application creates a cookie in your web browser, which enables the collection of the following data, among other things: IP address, device and browser properties and page events (e.g. page views). This data is encrypted, anonymized within seven days, and the anonymized data is deleted within 90 days.

You can revoke your consent at any time. Please follow this Link and select the appropriate settings via our banner.

LinkedIn does not share any personal data with us, but offers anonymous reports on website audience and display performance. In addition, LinkedIn offers the possibility of retargeting via the Insight Tag. We can use this data to display targeted advertising outside of our website without identifying you as a website visitor. You can find more information on data protection at LinkedIn in the LinkedIn data protection information. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal information for advertising purposes in their account settings.

e) Google Ads

We use "Google Ads" on our website, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as: "Google"). Google Ads enables us to draw attention to our offers with the help of advertising material (so-called Google Ads) on external websites. This enables us to determine how successful individual advertising measures are. These advertising media are delivered by Google via so-called "ad servers". We use so-called ad server cookies for this purpose, which can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Ads will store a cookie on your device. These cookies lose their validity after 90 days.

The following information is usually stored as analysis values for this cookie: Unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed). These cookies enable Google to recognize your web browser. If a user visits certain pages of an Ads customer's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Ads customer is assigned a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of Ads customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the advertising measures mentioned. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can see which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising material, in particular we cannot identify the user based on this information. Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of Google Ads. As far as we know, Google receives the information that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. If you have a Google user account and are registered, Google can assign the visit to your user account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, there is a possibility that Google will find out and store your IP address.

We use Google Ads for marketing and optimization purposes, in particular to show you relevant and interesting ads.

We only use Google AdWords with your consent, which you can revoke at any time. The corresponding data processing is based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) GDPR. The storage period is 6 months.

You can prevent the installation of cookies by deleting existing cookies and deactivating the storage of cookies in the settings of your web browser. We would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of our website to their full extent. It is also possible to prevent the storage of cookies by setting your web browser so that cookies from the "www.googleadservices.com" domain are blocked (https://www.google.de/settings/ads). We would like to point out that this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies. You can also deactivate interest-based ads via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices. We would like to point out that this setting will also be deleted if you delete your cookies.
